Question by Vanessa Z: What Film School will give me the best results to become a successful film director?
heres what im looking for, i want a degree that can get me into an intership in a great studio, and a school that will give me all the knowledge of a filmmaker and that wont scam me for my money, which a few ppl are telling cuz i want to attend a trade school. im already taking classes in film in community college, but i need to get a degree, but at another school, so what should i do, im leaning towards a private school which is LA Film School in california, obviously, and its charging me $ 43,000 for a 14mth course to get an AS in Film, good choice or bad choice? please help, suggest certain ways to get a degree to get an intership, and which school is best… oh and FYI, i set a 5 year limit for me to be already working in the industry, kevin smith, robert Rodrigues did it at 25+, why not me… thanks guys…

Check out what schools the Directors you admire went to. They probably didn’t.
Look at Tarantino, he dropped out of school at 16 and worked in a local Theatre Group and then (famously) a video store.
Spielberg and Lucas went to University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts, but Lucas got his first break by meeting the cinematographer Haskell Wexler at an Autotrack racing event (!)
Talent always shines through, regardless of what film school you went to.
