I saw a CGI trailer (maybe a short) about a guy on another planet using his truck to “fish” for giant worms, and he catches his biggest worm and it drags his truck across the planet.

Tremors (1990, with Kevin Bacon) has some giant worms out in the desert (not on an alien planet though).
