Question by Carolina: What kind of make up shows up best in black and white film?
I am going to film a vintage-looking commercial in black and white for my film class,we’re mocking those Calvin Klein type of perfume adds so it doesn’t matter if its a little over the top.

I would think that darker makeup would be best to highlight areas like eyes and lips. For instance, dark eyeliner or dark (really dark) lipstick. I heard once (not sure if totally true) that on the set of “I Love Lucy” they painted the women’s lips with really dark, almost blue, lipstick to make them stand out.
Fake eyelashes would probably show up well.
