Question by N B: What’s easier, breaking in as a novel writer or a screenwriter, particularly if I don’t live in L.A.?
I know both are difficult, and I have an interest in both, but I now want to concentrate on one or the other, so which would you choose?

Depends on where your talents lie. If you’re a better writer than a self-promoter, you’d do better as a novelist, because the publishing field rewards quality much more frequently than Hollywood does. However, if you are better at self-promotion and your writing is mediocre or nothing special, then you probably have a better shot as a screenwriter.
