Filmmaking is the production of films, whether they are made on film or video.
Digital filmmaking is the production of films made on video.
I know, it sounds weird, but keep in mind that at the beginning of film there was no digital world, therefore the expression filmmaking was justified.
With the advent of video the word filmmaking remained to mean the production of movies.
Other terms, like video-making appeared to mean the production of video for TV journalism, TV commercials, TV shows, and event production.
But the word filmmaking remained to express, in a certain way, that a filmmaker is someone who does narrative work (movies) using the language of film, whether using a film or video camera as a tool.
Hope that helps.
