Question by Walmartpimp: Will people think I am a plagiarist?
I go to film school, after about 8 months I had to drop out, but before I did, I submitted a 6 minute script for our DC (Digital Cinematography) class.
A year later I go back to school, and start editing with a new class. Since I wasn’t in there DC class, I had no project to edit, so I had to edit one of theirs. It just so happens the project I picked to edit, has striking similarities to my script.
Mine was about a girl who was molested as a kid, grew up, wants to kill her father, has a neighbor who likes her, she than seeks guidance from a priest, ultimately spares her fathers life, and ends with a funeral scene, years later.
Theirs was about a girl who was molested as a kid, grew up, kidnapped her father, killed him, went to jail, had a book written about her, and ends with a funeral scene.
Since I wasn’t in their Class before editing, I’m thinking about adapting my 6min script to 15min for 35mm.
Will people think I am a plagiarist?
