Question by Emma J: Would taking a joint English and Film Studies degree ruin my chances of making it in the film industry?
I am planning on doing a joint course but I think it will damage my chances of getting a job in the production side of film as the English may make it look like I’m into the writing side of things. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

You can’t “ruin” a chance that barely exists. If is almost impossible to make a career in Film. Many graduates resort to humiliating themselves by making videos at McDonald’s birthday parties. It helps if they wear a red rubber nose.
You’ve chosen two degree majors that lead to unemployment. You need to get realistic and serious about your life plans.
